Redwing, Minnesota

Today was a trip up to Redwing, Minnesota. This is one that we have done many times and has appeared here before; but, it is always fun to get out and see what we can find for photos.

Redwing really likes to leverage the redwing symbol which can be found all over the town. These are guardrail posts preventing traffic from entering pedestrian walkways.

Metal supports on park benches.

These decorative poles surrounding flowerbeds.

But the winner has to be this mural painted on the side of this grain storage silo.

ADM has a processing facility in downtown Redwing and these are their rail sidings for the cars delivering materials and taking away finished products.

Grain trucks unloading at Redwing Grain. These trucks are delivering on the corn only side, so this must be the harvest from last fall.

The loading dock at Redwing Grain. They were actively loading what appears to have been soybeans today.

This guy was closing the hatches on the top of the barges once the filling process was completed. He also used a leaf blower to blow off any remaining dust on the top of the cover. Not sure why they would go through the effort to do that, but maybe don’t want it to get wet and turn messy in the rain - that’s about the only thing we would think of.

This rather complex appearing grain silo seems like it is one of the dryers they use when a load of product has too high of a water content and needs further drying.

The always fascinating boat houses at the Redwing Yacht Club.

This image, looking down the boardwalk between the backs of the boat houses never ceases to interest me. There is a whole lot going on here.
